Canada's Pea Exports Slow in November

VANCOUVER - Dec 29/12 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 55,000 metric tons (MT) field pea were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in November. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.

The CGC reports exports are down from the 135,500 MT shipped the same month last year and down from the 256,400 MT shipped the previous month. This lifted season to date exports to 689,700 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, versus 831,400 MT during the same period last season.

The 2011-12 marketing year finished with 1,605,800 MT of peas have been exported through terminals reporting to the CGC, versus 2,461,100 MT the previous season.
