Pea Export Movement Lags Last Season
VANCOUVER - Dec 14/12 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 256,400 metric tons (MT) field pea were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in October. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports exports are up from the 204,500 MT shipped the same month last year and up from the 227,700 MT shipped the previous month. This lifted season to date exports to 634,700 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, versus 695,900 MT during the same period last season.
The 2011-12 marketing year finished with 1,605,800 MT of peas have been exported through terminals reporting to the CGC, versus 2,461,100 MT the previous season.
