USDA Tenders for 21,400 MT Peas
KANSAS CITY - Aug 23/12 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here is seeking offers of 21,400 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 200001268 the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags. In releasing the tender invitation, the USDA said, "Commodities purchased by FSA on or after June 15, 2012, may be stored or handled only by facilities licensed under the United States Warehouse Act (USWA).
"Peas and Lentils Section 1.1 C has been added to Commodity Requirements Document PL6 as follows: Yellow peas may grade U.S. No 3 based on damage (other than weevil-damage or heat damage)."
Purchases are for shipment from interior plants between October 1 to October 22 and between October 23 to November 13 for plants located at port.
