Edible Bean Finish on Easier Note

VANCOUVER - Jul 20/12 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets finished the week’s trading on a slightly easier note as the widening drought in the United States has yet to penetrate deeply in edible bean country.

This is letting markets focus on the prospective supply situation for beans and the short term intentions of importers and other buyers.

European traders are normally in summer holiday mode in July and August. This feeling is being more strongly felt now that the Olympic Games is getting underway in London.

Having the games in the EU is a far bigger distraction for the industry there than when the games are held on another continent. Compounding this is the fact Algeria and Turkey are not as active in medium and large white bean markets as they were last year.
