Peas Remain StrongVANCOUVER - May 11/12 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week on a strong note in spot markets in the face of confirmation that available supplies will remain tight until this year's harvest gets underway. As of March 31, Canada had only 798,000 metric tons (MT) of peas on hand, compared to pre-report estimates there might be 822,000 MT available. Tight spot market inventories come at a time when there are clear problems with rabi season pulse harvest on the Indian subcontinent.
