Firm Finish in Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Mar 31/12 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note against worries about crops in Brazil and Argentina.

This was reflected in North American markets where the spot price index for U.S. beans jumped 52 points to finish the week at 1803, even as the grower bid index was down 8 points at 1588.

Poor weather is expected to reduce total land in white alubia beans and black beans in Argentina.
