Edible Bean Area Below 2010WASHINGTON - Mar 30/12 - SNS -- Dry edible acreage in the United States will jump 38% to 1.67 million acres if farmer stick with their seeding intentions, according to the USDA. Despite the jump, total acreage would remain 13% below 2010. While edible beans were one of the best performing markets from an income perspective, farmers remain more enthusiastic about growing grains and oilseeds because they are easier to grow, harvest and market.
