Myanmar Pulse Exports Drop in October

WASHINGTON - Dec 1/11 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar faltered in October, though remaining above year earlier shipment volumes.

Shipments to all destinations finished October at 70,941 metric tons (MT), an increase of 12% from the same period in 2010. Of the total, 69% or 48,878 MT were shipped to India, followed 16% or 11,479 MT to Singapore, and 5% or 3,759 MT to China. Additionally, 35% of the total mung bean exports or 3,687 MT were traded with China through border trade.

Matpe (black gram) accounted for 57% of the total exports followed by toor whole 21%, and mung bean 15%.
