Pea Export Movement Eases in October

VANCOUVER - Nov 1/11 - SNS -- Bulk conventional exports of pulses and other specialty crops from Canada slowed In October, with total shipments falling almost 25% behind last year.

During the month, exporters loaded five ships at Vancouver with 193,611 metric tons (MT) of peas; and one ship at Thunder Bay with 18,577 MT of lentils.

Movement could be better than last year in November. There are currently four vessels nominated to lift peas from Vancouver this month. There are none nominated to lift product from other ports.
