CGC Reports Slow July Pea Exports

WINNIPEG - Aug 25/11 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 88,200 metric tons (MT) field pea were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in July. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.

The CGC reports exports are down from the 166,600 MT shipped the same month last year and down from the 138,600 MT shipped the previous month.

For the entire 2010-11 marketing year, the CGC said 2,443,600 MT of peas were exported, versus 1,568,900 MT the previous season. So far this calendar year, pea exports total 1,278,900 MT, versus 941,100 last year. Field pea exports during the full 2010 calendar year were 1,726,800 MT, up from 1,449,200 in 2008.
