Indian Worries Keep Markets Firm

VANCOUVER - Aug 12/11 - SNS -- International field pea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, helped by doubts about India's efforts to maintain last year's pulse production levels.

However, this year's monsoon season is trying hard to finish better than forecast, with rainfall levels improving.

This could stimulate a last ditch effort to expand pulse area in the country as well as set up the land for a good start to the winter or rabi season.
