French Pea Exports Steady in May
VANCOUVER - Aug 8/11 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France remained strong through the final month of the country's 2010-11 marketing year, pushing exports for the entire shipping season 82% above the previous year, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Exports during June totalled 29,685 metric tons (MT), up from the 28,475 MT shipped in May and up from the 13,915 MT of field peas exported the same month the previous year.
This lifted field pea exports for the 2010-11 marketing year to 353,895 MT, versus 194,785 MT the previous season.
