USDA Buys 19,660 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Aug 5/11 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 19,660 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 200000341 the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags. Purchases are for shipment from interior plants between September 1 to September 22 and between September 23 to October 13 for plants located at port.
In releasing details of purchases made, the USDA said "no offers were received" for 4,140 metric tons of yellow split peas.
