Myanmar Exports Hold Steady in June

WASHINGTON - Aug 4/11 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar maintained their solid pace through the end of June, with shipments to all destinations totaled 151,929 metric tons (MT), down slightly from the previous month, but almost double the same month last year.

India remains the most important buyer of pulses, accounting for 55% of all export movement in June. It was followed by China at 20% or 30,807 MT, and Singapore at 13% or 20,226 MT. Additionally, 72% of the total mung bean or 28,229 MT were traded with China through border trade.

Shipments of matpe (black gram) accounting for 50% of the total exports, followed by mung bean (green gram) 26% and toor whole 14%.
