Pea Exports Slow in June

VANCOUVER - Jul 4/11 - SNS -- Bulk conventional exports of pulses and other specialty crops from Canada were seasonally slower in June, dropping below month earlier levels, but rising above the quantity shipped during the same month last year.

Port clearances during the first 11 months of the 2010-11 marketing year have already established a new single season record at 2.32 million metric tons (MT) of field peas, surpassing the previous marketing year record for pea exports by roughly 405,000 MT. Total movement is now about 741,000 MT above the same period last season.
