French Pea Exports Steady in April
VANCOUVER - Jun 8/11 - SNS -- Field pea exports remained steady through April, rising above year earlier levels, but dropping below the quantity shipped in March, judging from the latest data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
In April, market sentiment was not yet seriously affected by the drought conditions persisting across much of France's agricultural region, keeping asking prices at levels which were competitive with other products.
Exports during the month totalled 28,425 metric tons (MT), down from the 32,280 MT shipped in March and up from the 17,130 MT of field peas exported the same month the previous year.
