Mixed Performance in Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Oct 29/1 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets posted a mixed performance during the past week, with white beans generally firmer and colored beans mixed.

North American markets were firmer, helped by delays with the California harvest, where the blackeye bean harvest is about half complete and the large lima bean harvest only 40% complete.

Firmness in the U.. markets was reflected in the spot market index from dry edible beans in the United States, which gained 18 points on the week to finish at 908. By contrast, the index for grower bids in the United States was up 11 points at 825.
