Bigger N.A. Bean Crop
VANCOUVER - Oct 10/10 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a slightly firmer note despite a significant increase in estimated seeded area in the United States.
In its latest crop report, the USDA boosted area 7% to 1.9 million acres. Canadian bean area was pegged at 326,100 acres for a North American acreage of 2.26 million acres, versus 1.832 million last year.
Production in Canada and the United States is expected to approach 1.72 million MT, compared to just 1.364 million MT last year.
