Strong Finish on World Bean Markets

VANCOUVER - Sep 11/10 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a relatively strong note against rising demand from Brazil and ongoing buying from other destinations.

North American markets appeared to surrender value during the week, but this was more a reflection of the transition into new crop pricing.

This left the spot market index for U.S. origin beans down 52 points at 882, while the spot grower bid index sank 72 points to 798 against expectations of record yields on a higher seeded area.
