Firm Finish in Field Peas

VANCOUVER - Aug 13/10 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note on account of concerns over availability of regionally produced protein in Europe's livestock markets.

For their part, North American markets are worried about the effect the wet growing season will ultimately have on crop yields in Saskatchewan, the region's key field pea growing area.

Initial harvest activity was reported in the province during the 10 days, but there are no indications of yield.
