French Pea Exports Finish Soft
VANCOUVER - Aug 12/10 - SNS -- French field pea exports closed out that country's 2009-10 marketing year on an easier note, with shipments in June down from both month and year earlier levels, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Exports during the month totalled 14,850 metric tons (MT), down from the 25,700 MT shipped in May and down from the 24,480 MT of field peas exported the same month last year.
This lifted total shipments for the 2009-10 marketing year to 195,550 MT, down 21% from the 247,300 MT shipped the previous marketing year.
