CGC Reports Lighter June Pea ShipmentsWINNIPEG - Aug 9/10 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 142,300 metric tons (MT) of field pea were exported in June through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals. The CGC reports exports are down from the 165,600 MT shipped the same month last year and down from the 177,400 MT shipped the previous month. So far during the past marketing year, the CGC said 1,419,500 MT of peas have been exported, versus 1,810,000 MT last season. So far this calendar year, pea exports total 774,700 MT, versus 1,015,900 last year. Field pea exports during the full 2009 calendar year total 1,726,800 MT, up from 1,449,200 in 2008.
