U.S, Bean Harvest Firecast Unchanged

PANAMA - Jan 12/24 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were little affected by the final production estimate for the United States, with output slightly higher than the previous forecast at 1.085 million metric tons (MT) in states covered by the USDA.

This suggest total output for the United States dropped from 1.207 million MT last year to 1.141 million, with significant declines in pinto and navy bean output partly offset by advances in blacks and great northerns.

This was reflected in the U.S. dry edible bean price index which inched 0.1 pointsbhigher on the week to closet at 109.8. By contrast, the global pulse price index lost 1.3 points to close at 114.3 and the the Canadian index fell 1.6 points to finish at 109.3.
