WASHINGTON Oct 12/23 - SNS -- This year's pecan harvest is expected to drop 11% from last year to reach 248 million pounds, according to the USDA's latest crop estimates.
Improved varieties are expected to produce 234 million pounds or 94% of the total. The native and seedling varieties are expected to produce 13.8 million pounds, making up the remaining 6% of production.
