Pigeon Pea Imports By India Start With Weak Tone

PANAMA - Jun 7/22 - SNS -- So far during the current calendar year with an easier note, with pigeon pea imports by India plunged compared to the previous month in March, according to available data from Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics.

Total imports in the month reached 3,865 metric tons (MT), down 62% from the previous month's total of 10,157. So far imports have totalled 81,489 MT, down from 87,936 during the previous calendar year.

Mozambique was the number one export origin during the month, selling 2,037 MT. Tanzania was the second most important shipper shipping 811 MT, followed by Sudan at 785 MT.
