Anticipation In Peas
PANAMA - Apr 22/22 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading little hanged, helped by ongoing movement of product into export markets from Canada and other origins.
The main focus, however, is Statistics Canada's April 30 seeding intentions report. The question is whether growers in Canada will follow the lead of their counterparts in the United States and boost seeded area rather than maintaining plantings at a level similar to last year.
Competition for land use is more intense than usual because of strong current and future returns for grains and oilseeds, combined with greater ease of marketing.
