Peas Don't React to Increased U.S. Area
PANAMA - Apr 1/22 - SNS -- Field pea markets ended the week's trading on a generally firm note despite the intention of farmers in the United States to boost area this year.
The USDA reported they say they will plant 1.088 million acres of all classes of peas, up from 977,000 last year and 998,000 in 2020.
If yields are at their recent five year average total output would reach 792,000 metric tons (MT), up from just under 389,000 last year and above the previous five year average of 750,000 MT.
