U.S. Beans Remain Under Stress

WASHINGTON - Aug 9/21 - SNS -- Dry edible bean crops in the United remained under considerable stress during the past, though a large part of the crop is now in bloom and podding is progressing in some states.

The proportion rated poor or very poor inched up from 35% to 36%, while the percentage rated in good to excellent condition was moved from 28% to 29%.

USDA state level offices stopped reporting on the condition of peas in most states because the harvest now appears to be roughly 59% complete, compared to 31% at this time last year.
