U.S. Bean Conditions Continues to Slip
WASHINGTON - Aug 2/21 - SNS -- The bulk of the U.S. dry edible bean crop is either flowering or podding, while the condition of the crop continued to slip in some states.
The proportion rated poor or very poor inched up from 33% to 35%, while the percentage rated in good to excellent condition was unchanged at 28%.
Conditions remain the poorest in North Dakota, where the proportion of good to excellent fields slipped from 13% to 11%, while the proportion rated poor or very poor advanced from 51% to 54%.
