U.S. Pea Harvest Around 27% Complete

WASHINGTON - Jul 27/21 - SNS -- Harvesting of this year's field pea crop in the United States continued during the past week, with more regions reporting initial harvest activity, judging from state level reports from the USDA.

However, the condition of the crop deteriorated significantly during the past week, with available data suggesting 54% is in very poor or poor condition, compared to 47% a week ago.

The proportion rated very poor jumped from 13% to 24%. Crops rated good to excellent dropped from 13% to 10%, while the fraction rated fair sank from 34% to 28%.
