WASHINGTON - Jul 7/21 - SNS -- The United States experienced a significant decline in the condition of pea fields, judging from state level crop ratings.
The proportion in poor or very poor condition jumped four points to 41%, while fields in fair condition slipped from 33% to 31% and those rated good to excellent sank from 35% to 21%.
Fields continue to look worst in Oregon, with 67% of the crop rated in poor or very poor condition, compared to 50% in Montana and 51% in Washington state and 35% in North Dakota.
