Peas Mull Seeded Area Potential

PANAMA - Feb 26/21 - SNS -- Global field pea markets were little changed during the past week in spot shipping positions, but showed some firmness in for deferred and new crop movement.

New crop bid levels in western Canada suggests some confidence seeded area and a need to be competitive with other ingredients in China's livestock feed sector.

Canada relies on China to remove a significant portion of the crop. Between the 2012-13 and 20616-17 marketing years, the country accounted for an average 29% of all exports. In the last three crop years, an average 59% of all exports from Canada were to China, while between August and December it accounted for 82% of all export movement.
