Canadian Exporters Reach Harder to Buy Peas
PANAMA - Oct 16/20 - SNS -- Export markets for field peas were little changed during the past week as exporters appeared more focussed on accumulating product to meet sales commitments than adding to positions.
Prices paid to farmers ended the week on a stronger note in both Canada and the United States, with the upper end of the current bid ranges rising for both whole green and yellow peas.
In Canada, there is evidence that peas which are easy to buy have already been sold by farmers, forcing processors and exporters to raise prices in an effort to maintain grower selling interest.
