Peas Hold Their Gains
PANAMA - Oct 2/20 - SNS -- Field pea markets maintained their strength through the past week, helped by solid opening season export movement.
Unofficial data from the Canadian Grain Commission suggests 630,900 metric tons (MT) of peas were loaded for bulk export in September, up from 102,400 in August and 508,900 the same month last year.
Combined with a faster harvest pace, this has encouraged farmers to move a higher proportion of their crop than at this time last year. They are also taking advantage of higher prices.
