Problems Emerging in Some Bean States

WASHINGTON - Jul 7/20 - SNS -- With seeding of this year's dry edible bean crops complete in the United States, attention has turned to growing conditions and the status of crops in their early stages of development.

Judging from available state level crop reports, 66% of the crop is in good to excellent condition, while 24% is fair and 9% is rated poor or very poor.

Above average temperatures in Minnesota aided crop development, while heavy rains in northwest and southern Minnesota slightly increased overall topsoil moisture supplies to 1% very short, 10% short, 73% adequate and 16% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were rated 1% very short, 7% short, 79% adequate and 13% surplus.
