Pea Shipments Drop In February
WINNIPEG - Mar 22/16 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 141,700 metric tons (MT) field pea were loaded for export through licensed terminal and primary elevators which are required to report to it all grain movement in February.
The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports exports are up 40% from the 217,400 MT shipped the same month last year but down by 44% from the 250,900 MT loaded for export the previous month.
Movement for the first seven months of the marketing year is up from the previous season, setting a record for the period. Shipments to date total 1.75 million MT, compared to 1.58 million during the same period last season.
