Corn Crush Down On Year

WASHINGTON - Nov 2/15 - SNS -- Total corn consumed for alcohol and other uses was 478.6 million bushels in September 2015, according to the USDA.

Total corn consumption was down 4% from August 2015 and down 4% from July 2015.

September usage included 91.2% for alcohol and 8.8% for other purposes. Corn for beverage alcohol totaled 3.48 million bushels, up 11% from August and up 31% from July.

Corn for fuel alcohol, at 427.5 million bushels, was down 4% from August and down 5% from July. Corn consumed in September 2015 for dry milling fuel production and wet milling fuel production was 89.8% and 10.2% respectively.

Dry mill co-product production of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) was 1.91 million tons during September 2015, down 3% from August 2015 and down 5% from July 2015. Distillers wet grains (DWG) 65% or more moisture was 1.17 million tons in September 2015, up 1% from August 2015 and up 2% from July 2015.

Wet mill corn gluten feed production was 312.5 thousand tons during September 2015, down 9% from August 2015 and down 6% from July 2015. Wet corn gluten feed 40 to 60% moisture was 286.6 thousand tons in September 2015, down 1% from August 2015 and down 9% from July 2015.
