Strong Export Movement in Peas
VANCOUVER - Sep 12/15 - SNS -- Canadian field peas are starting the 2015-16 marketing with strong export movement, judging from data available from the Canadian Grain Commission.
Field peas loaded to bulk vessels at Canadian ports was a record 274,000 metric tons (MT). This compares to 256,100 MT last year and just 53,500 MT in August of 2013.
It is important to realize this number will likely be higher than official export clearances for the month. Official exports are based on the bill of lading date, not the date product was loaded to the ship.
