French Pea Exports Jump in July
VANCOUVER - Sep 9/15 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France started the 2015-16 marketing campaign with a bang, judging from data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments during the month totalled 34,130 metric tons (MT), up 1% from the 33,720 MT shipped the previous month, and nearly five times as much as the 5,775 MT shipped the same month last year.
The jump reflects a 25,000 MT cargo of field peas shipped to India during the month. The balance of peas shipped in July went to European destinations, with Italy the most important, followed by Belgium and Germany.
