Myanmar Pulse Shipments Improve in July

WASHINGTON - Nov 13/14 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar jumped in July, rising 13% from the quantity shipped in June and jumping 22% over the volume exported the same month last year.

Official exports of beans and pulses slightly increased to 69,225 MT in July from 68,893 MT in June. Unofficial exports via land borders to India and China increased by 42% in July to 41,014 MT as compared to 28,892 MT in June.

Matpe (black gram) beans accounted for 67% of official exports, followed by Toor Whole at 17% and Mung Bean at 5%. By country, India accounted for 71% of total official exports, followed by Singapore at 7%, and Vietnam at 4%.
