WASHINGTON - Oct 10/14 - SNS -- This year's U.S. pecans crop is forecast at 276 million pounds (utilized, in-shell basis), up 3% from 2013, according to the USDA's latest crop report.
Improved varieties are expected to produce 233 million pounds or 85% of the total. The native and seedling varieties are expected to produce 42.6 million pounds, making up the remaining 15% of production.
