Duty Extension A Relief to Peas
VANCOUVER - Sep 28/14 - SNS -- Field pea markets were mostly unchanged in relatively light trade during the past week.
Markets were relieved to see India extend the duty exemption for peas until March 31, 2015, but disappointed that the exemption for chickpeas was only extended until December 31.
Lower production forecasts for this year's rabi or monsoon season pulse crop likely contributed to India's decision to extend the exemption.
