FAQ Qualities Drop From 2013
VANCOUVER - Sep 18/14 - SNS -- Initial harvest results suggest the fair average quality (FAQ) of this year's lentil harvest will be No 3 Canada while the pea crop is No 2 Canada.
Overall field pea quality could be higher because the harvest in Alberta came off in relatively good condition, with most of the crop harvested before the weather turned bad.
In its latest crop progress report, Saskatchewan Agriculture believed that "of the crops that have been harvested so far, 71% of the field peas are estimated to fall within the top two quality grades while 61% of the lentils and 79% of the durum is estimated to fall within the bottom two quality grades."
