U.S. Expects 7% More Peas
WASHINGTON - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- Land in field peas in the United States is expected to total 921,000 acres, up 7% from 2013, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates for 2014.
Prospective plantings are up in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, while North Dakota growers expect planted area to decrease 12% from a year ago.

Austrian winter pea planted area is estimated at 28,500 acres, up 58% from 2013. Growers in Idaho and Montana intend to plant more acres this season, while Oregon farmers anticipate lower plantings from a year ago.
