Mixed Finish in Beans

VANCOUVER - Sep 28/13 - SNS -- The world's dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with North American markets easing with the approach of harvest and other origins remaining firm.

This was reflected in the U.S. spot price index for dealer markets, which slipped 34 points on the week to finish at 1539.

By contrast, asking prices for Chinese origin black and white beans remained at high levels, reflecting concern about the quality and quantity of product which will be available for sale this season.
