Generally Strong Finish For Beans

VANCOUVER - Aug 30/13 - SNS -- The world's dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a generally strong note against worries about production in China and the North America.

On the other hand, news of weakness in Brazil's domestic markets took some of the luster off bullish market sentiment in nearby markets.

Some of China's most important dry edible bean production areas received more rainfall during the week, adding to worries about further quality and yield losses on account of disease, sprouting, and rotting.

Processors in the country also expect this year's crop to have a higher than normal percentage of small caliber beans. That will add to tightness in world markets for large caliber white beans, with buyers hoping for good African crops.
