Production Uncertainty Firms Beans

VANCOUVER - Aug 10/13 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone through the past week as ongoing demand remains ahead of quantities available from exporters.

North American markets were eager to see the contents of the coming USDA crop report, which should contain a break down of seeded area by class.

There is a general expectation it will show a solid drop in actual area from the June seeded area estimates. This reflects seeding delays in North Dakota, which prevented some farmers from getting crops in the ground before the cut off date for crop insurance.
