Beans Maintain Strong Tone

VANCOUVER - Jun 8/13 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone through the past week against a fundamental shortage of product in Argentina and delays planting this year’s crop in the United States.

Delays seeding crops in the U.S. helped firm North American markets.

This was partly reflected in the U.S. spot market index for dry edible beans, which finished the week up six points at 1331. The grower index was also higher on the week, rising 6 points to finish at 1228.
