Myanmar Pulse Exports Down on Year
WASHINGTON - Jun 5/13 - SNS -- Myanmar's dry edible bean exports have remained well below year earlier since February, with shipments in April dropping below both month and year earlier levels.
Shipments during the month ended up at 84,278 metric tons (MT), down 15% from the same month last year and down a third from the 124,895 MT shipped in March.
Of this total, 76% was exported to India followed by Singapore with 11% and China with 5%. Matpe beans (black gram) accounted for 29% of the total exports, compared to mung beans at 38% and toor whole at 31%.
