Mixed Finish on Bean Markets

VANCOUVER - Nov 2/12 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets finished the week on a mixed note, with North American markets troubled by the scope of the potential recovery in Mexican production.

This is focusing attention on the risk ending stocks for pinto beans and other classes will be higher than initially expected because of prospects for slower Mexican demand the first half of 2013.

Even so, the spot price index for U.S. beans only lost two points on the week to finish at 1306, while the grower bid index gained 11 points to finish at 1215.
